I bout my Justin Tekno Crepe cowboy boots on Monday, September 6th 2010, Labor Day. I know this 'cos I still carry the receipt in my wallet to this day. The model I bought is 'Moka' colored so they're tan, with a brown bull hide heel counter and have a tan shaft, but other than the color they're the exact same thing. Anyhow, I absolutely love the look of the boots but that ain't what got me to buy 'em. What got me to buy 'em was the insane amount of comfort and pleasure they gave my feet! They felt more 'broke in' felling than those companies that say their boots feel 'broke in'. Wearing' these boots is literally like walking' on clouds! Let me tell ya, they last FOREVER! I've had mine for a little over a year and a half and I'm still wearing 'em just 'bout everyday! I've trekked and trotted through mud, rain, snow, sand and just about other kind of terrain you can possibly walk through and they've held up just fine. Granted, they physically show how much wear and tear I've put them through, the soles have seen better days and the piping is pretty tore up. The leather is very easy to maintain but, it does draw in dirt, grease, motor oil and mud stains pretty easily. Considering I use mine for work, that's not a problem for me. If you're looking for good lounge or dress boots these will work great IF you maintain them right. I will also say that the crepe sole in these boots is like relief on your feet 'cos they offer that 'bounce' but, the tread will wear off a lot quicker on asphalt then it will, dirt, gravel or grass. The double stitch welt hold the sole onto the boot very well and the 3/8" spur ledge is fantastic if you plan on riding any bulls or horses. Bottom line? If you want extreme comfort, reliability and those boots they where you can say 'those are my favorite trusty boots right there', you absolutely MUST get these boots! Oh, I almost forgot, they're made in the good ol' U.S. of A.! These boots have made my mind, I'm now one of them boys who will only wear justin Boots!
Pros: Durable, Value, Quality Construction, Comfortable, Great Fit, Attractive Design, Quality Material

what is the shaft circumfrence?

I have very muscular calfs. Will this fit a 16-18 inch calf? If not any thoughts, I do want a tall boot.

steve
The measure around the shaft of a boot varies with the size of the boot, smalls (size 5-7) usually run about 16" at the most, mediums (size 8-9) usually run about 18" at the most, large (size 10-12) runs about 20" and and large (size 13-15) usually run about 22".

The height of the heel

I prefer heels with some height and was hoping to learn the height of this heel as measured from the interior face of the heel.
The inside measure of the heel of these boots is about 2 5/8" inches.

\r\n Lucchese 1883 exotic western boots for the modern cowboy \r\n Genuine burnished head-cut caiman skin \r\n Caiman Deigo inlay vamp \r\n Genuine leather upper, lining, heel, & sole \r\n Contemporary snip toe profile \r\n Proudly handcrafted in the U.S.A. \r\n Vendor Style: N1114 54 \r\n \r\n \r\n Aptly named for the year Lucchese created its first boots, the 1883 Lucchese brand is reminiscent of the traditional hallmarks of handcrafted boots of the era. But Lucchese 1883 doesn’t forget "up to the minute" style. Here, Lucchese updates this western boot with rugged burnished leather. Boot features a genuine head-cut caiman leather foot under a tan burnished fancy stitched 13" leather shaft. Caiman overlay pull straps. Leather lining. Pointed snip toe profile. Underslung heel with rubber grip surface.

Will the toe of the boot be tooled as shown in this photo? ie, the scales protruding to the sides at the front. Nice look. I hope so.

Lucchese1883 Hand Crafted Diego inlay head-cut caiman western boots
Considering Lucchese Boots are hand crafted by expert boot makers, they do slightly vary in design but, the boot makers do try their best to make every design similar. It's not guaranteed that your pair will be exactly like this one but there's only a slim chance that they won't.
