A good fitting pair of boots can make your day. A bad fit will be nothing less that torture.. When I find a boot that I like I make note of the brand and try to stick with one brand, inexpensive or expensive. Sometimes that is possible but as you go up in quality and name brands you have to re-sise for the new brand. Old West boots are inexpensive and quite comfortable for everyday wear but not for hard working conditions. A key to the life of the boot is to keep them clean using saddle soap to clean and a good polish or creame to keep the leather supple. Take care of them and they will take care of you.

Footwear Sizing: Slightly Big
The cowboy boot runs a little large. I also have a pr of black roper boots and a pr. of Wine colored roper boots. I followed the instructions for sizing on the wine pr. and they are a bit large. I chose a smaller size in the wide width and they fit just right. Overall these boot fit my purpose just fine. For inexpensive boots these boot meet the mark. They are more utility than dress. I don't think they would do very well as everyday work boots. I like Shepler's service and return policies and will shop with them again. I also bought a winter 3x Justin hat and a straw one for summer. Nice quality in the hats for the price I paid.
Pros: Value, Comfortable
Cons: Color Not As Represented, do not appear to be very durable for everday wear.

Sizes show both 9 EE and 9/EE - what's the difference?
Old West Leather Roper Cowboy Boots
I don't know that there is any difference as far as size goes. Either way it is written it represents a size 9 and extra wide width.

What leather conditioner should I use with this boot?
There are many good saddle soap Mfgrs.I use Kiwi because it cleans and conditions the leather. After cleaning the boots I use KiwI parade gloss polish to bring out a shine in the boots. A good tip before using saddle soap is to clean the boots with a medium stiff brush to get mud off the leather and the soles. Then let boots air dry before cleaning with saddle soap. , Wipe the boots clean and do not let the saddle soap dry on the boots, then proceed cleaning and polishing as indicated. This technique not only makes your boots look great but it helps preserve the supple feeling of the boots and extends the life of the boot.

Haven't seen 7 1/2 EE available in any boots. Do they only make those in D or are they just not carried? If made but not available, any ideas?
Always buy boots at least 1/2 size larger than your shoes. If you have a small but wide foot, but the next size up for a correct fit. Also remember, boot sizes vary between manufactures so you may need to go to a store and try on a pair before you order on-line.

what is the difference between EE and D when it comes to sizes?
D and EE apply to the difference in the width of the boot . D is usually a medium width and EE is an extra wide designation.. To determine correct width there is a site on Shepler's web page that you can print out in full scale and determine your size and width you may need. Width would also depend on what type of socks you wear with the boots.

How comfortable is the sole on this boot?
Sole is comfortable but traction on wet grass is not so good.
