Nice shirt but fabric a little chaffing

This shirt is a nice teal color, well made, but the heavy twill fabric after 2 washings and using vinegar to soften as recommended by a friend still feels stiff. My fiancée's take on it is that he'll have to wear a t-shirt so he won't chafe his chest and he usually doesn't wear one. I'm hoping it will eventually soften.
Pros: Durable, Value, Quality Construction, Great Fit, Attractive Design, Quality Material
Cons: Uncomfortable

Nice flattering shirt

My fiancée looks good in this shirt, makes his already broad shoulders look even more so. The only thing is that the burgundy fabric at the shoulders and arms is a heavy twill and it's going to take quite a few washings to soften it up. It make the cuff snaps hard to snap. The shirt body is a denim cotton and softened almost with the first washing. I'd likely buy others in different color combinations providing the body fabric would do the same thing.

do these shirts come in a "fitted" style? my boyfriend works out and has big chest and shoulders but a smaller waist. would your shirt work?
the shirt tapers in at the torso and I would say that it would likely be worth trying.
